Secret Outlast Review from BzzAgent Mission

A few weeks ago, i received sample from BzzAgent. The sample is Secret Outlast Clear Gel Deodorant. I have never ever tried clear gel deodorant before, so i was so excited and eager about this mission. Off course i have tried different type of deodorant before, the one i tried is spray on, roll on and solid deodorant. I love to put deodorant right after i take a shower, since honestly i do stink after few hours of exercise and do activities. And specially during my period, i really sensitive about how i smell and bad odor.Do I the only one have this problem? I wonder.. So for me deodorant is a necessity to smell good and feel good about myself.

So let get start about this Secret Outlast that i received for free via BzzAgent mission. I actually love this Secret Outlast, it does come out clear after you twist the product. It also dries really quickly, almost as soon as you put it on. This is actually good thing, i don't like the solid deodorant product since this type deodorant usually leave remarks or stain on your clothes and it not easy to get rid the stain. The clear gel from Secret Outlast surely is not going to leave you any stain or remarks. I wonder why i never try this kind of deodorant before, it almost like the clear roll on that i love and use it ever single day. I love this Secret Outlast, and surely would recommend this deodorant to any one who need deodorant and need to smell good every day.

ThanksGiving and Black Friday 2014

Last Thursday, we celebrate ThanksGiving Day, this celebration only for people in US/Canada. For those who didn't know about US tradition, this is the story that i from mr google.

 (in North America) an annual national holiday marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey. The holiday commemorates a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621, and is held in the US on the fourth Thursday in November. A similar holiday is held in Canada, usually on the second Monday in October.

This traditions for Americans is the time to give thanks to the family, in my in laws house, Usually we gather and eat Turkey in Indonesia means Kalkun. Company by tons of other food and wine. (pumkin pie, pecan pie and other cookies). After gooble down the turkey, i always feel sleepy, i think because the chemical inside the turkey or the food coma that people here talking about. Usually i didn't cook for the Thanksgiving, but i after i read several tons of making turkey, i think that it's better to leave it to the pro (my mother in-law) since she's already used of this kind tradition. For your information, for turkey you have to cook it at least 8-9 hours, since turkey usually big.

After the Thanksgiving day is the following day is famous for it's Black Friday, pretty much is the kick start of shopping season. At this special Friday, there's a lot of big discount for every major store. And people will even fight in the store, because the deal is so good. Store will have special price that is cut (for 80-90% of the retail price) and they only have few of the items per-store. Some of the shopper even camp outside the store to get the items at that special price. Sometimes i'm thinking that they are nuts,to camp since around ends of November, our weather is very bitter cold. This time around the store also open early, some even open at Thanksgiving Day around 6 pm.

If you want to see American Malls looks like Mangga Dua (famous in Indonesia/Jakarta for cheap goods), since it was finally crowded due to cheap price and giving season for Christmas. Even though we went to the mall at the Black Friday, i didn't buy anything for myself even though i was eyeing for this gorgeous track pants at the HnM

So well tell me what do you get on the Black Friday? Do you shop at Thanksgiving day or the Friday? By the way, come to think of the pants, maybe i'll snatch it on Cyber Monday...and yes it's another sale but it's done online. I hope the pants still there and not running out.;)

Review on Chapstick Lip balm Double Ended (Smiley360 mission)

Few weeks ago I received sample Chapstick Double Ended from Smiley 360. As a member of this community, we will received sample for free. And the fun part is we got to try it, and tell others about the product and if the product is working for us. The sample usually comes with few coupon that we can give to our friends and family to try.

Honestly i am a lip balm junkie, i have tons of it, put it everywhere, because my family have a very dry and chaps lips specially during the winter time. My chaps lips is so dry is bleed sometimes, and i have it. My son constantly have dry lips, so we pile on the lip balm. One of the brand that usually you can find easily on drugstore even on at local gas station is Chapstick.

The Chapstick Hydration Lock Double Ended that i  review is Day and Night. Let talk about this newbie lip balm that i just find out. It have yellow and blue caps. Yellow is for day time it also have SPF 12 and the blue is for night time. When i tried both i find that Yellow/Day lip balm is more drier than Blue/Night time. I love the concept this lipbalm, since if you constantly travelling like my family, carrying only one lip balm instead 2 is very convenient. Over all this product is a good product and have great concept for people who have carrying lots of lipbalm.

Beauty TIPS : Scrub your lips with homemade scrub, use sugar with honey or brown sugar with olive oil. It will make your lips supple and look bigger after it.

The Benefit & Birchbox Beauty Bash Weekends

Last Friday i host a beauty bash for Benefit Cosmetics and BirchBox. This beauty bash is to celebrate National Wing Women by Benefit. Why i got selected to host this? I am actually won from the contest that they have and only about 1500 people selected for this. I know my chance is slim, so when an email come about 2-3 weeks ago telling me that i win, i didn't believe it. 

But the UPS guy come about a week before the party and i start to panic! I don't have lots of friends in US and i never host beauty party ever! The package also come with instructions and suggestions which include looking through pinterest and instagram. Well, it's changelling for me since when i look there's lots of womens posting their unique ideas and DIY theme. I am up for the it...here i come up with...

First the Box of goodies from BenefitxBirchbox. The box come with the sample of the makeup from Benefit and also some party decoration to add for my party.

And i got tons idea from pinterest, youtube and also suggestion from Benefit and Birchbox. They have special websites for party winners, and on that page they had print out (banner, frame, notes, games, etc) to add flare for the party.

They also have suggestions for the food. Here is my spin for the food

The mussel, cucumber is courtesy of my hubby (btw he's a chef) is really a hit and i also put some crackers, nut from Makassar (Indonesia) and strawberry cupcakes.

When the guest arrived, we go straight for the appetizer and after that we tried all the sample of The Benefit Real Mascara and Benefit Push Up Liner. One of my friends Devina since she's very good on applying the makeup she become a guest stars ;)

We like the mascara, but we still figuring out the push up liners, since it need practice to use it. We all love the LolliTint, it have shimmery pink and purple that is flattering for lips and cheeks.

The party turn out to be a great party, we share love of makeup and also i am so proud that i can come out with few DIY and able to host my first beauty party. The kids also join the fun!

Quick Review for Not Your Mother Beach Babe #NYMBeachBabe

I got this awesome products from Influenster couple weeks ago. I was hesitate to try it at first, since i have an Asian hair, that is very fine and very flat. Today i finally got it right, due to Not Your Mother's Beach Babe shampoo and conditioner. I couldn't believe it myself...okay ladies the secret is out use the Not Your Mother shampoo and conditioner to texture your hair. Buy a sample product to test since every one hair is different...but btw your hairstyle must have layers too! Here is my picture to proof it

I recieved a complimentary VoxBox from Influenster in late June. This box was sent to me by Influenster to test it and put it to the test and review it. This program you can join in for free and all they ask is our opinion of the products that they sent it to you. I've been so happy join in Influenster because i got to try out product, love them and  spread the love with my review on my blog or social media.

1. Jamba Juice All Natural Smoothie Kit coupon. I never heard about this company before but since my family loves smoothies, this free coupon is a perfect way to try out the smoothies. Usually i prefer fresh smoothies but if there is no fresh ingridient in the house this going to be prefect for a quick remedy

2. Not Your Mother's  Beach Babe  texturing shampoo and conditioner. Since i have a very fine hair, i love to put more volume to my hair. The retail price about $1.50 this is agood price point and i have to check this one out at my local store.

3. First Aid Shot Therapy a $2.50, i didn't know what is the product all about until i read it. It actually a single dose pain reliever. It's pretty cool idea, but i unsure about the whole dose of it. I'm hoping that i get a chance to try it sometime in the future

4. Sinful Color nail polish in the shade Anchors Away, the product is proudly made in USA, they also have lots of color tho choose for. I love the orange color is perfect for the summer.

Indonesian President Elections 2014

Today is a big day for Indonesian Democracy. This is the day when we elected our President for 2014-2019. Since i travel to Indonesia every summer i finally witness myself the atmosphere of democracy. This elections is really exciting and very creative among all other election in the past. If you google there's a tons of informacy since social media is envolve such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blog etc, is just like i predict in my blog post in March 2014.

There are only 2 candidate, 1st is Prabowo (President Candidate no.1) and 2nd is Jokowi (President Candidate no 2). Both parties has come out different campaign Prabowo with Indonesia Bersatu and Jokowi with Indonesia Hebat. 

Jokowi majority since it's full of young talents, the campaign full of the original song, catch phrase and reminds me about Obama campaign back in 2008. And futher more most of these young talents, is willingly, without pay to make song, phamplete and donate. Again mimicking or inspire by Obama campaign too. 

Prabowo, this 1st candidate is a long standing opposition that been several time entering this kind of election. His track record i think since 2008 (sorry for my lack of knowledge on for this candidate). For the first time too we actually have a presidental debate for 5 times. This is a very rare opportunites, to get to know each candidate programs and missions. I'm so happy for this debate hoping these debate will be a new begining of new era of democracy in Indonesia.

This morning my parents, me and my sister together with my brother inlaws goes to vote at the near by  election place.

As i write this blog, the announcement has not yet been made for which one is been elected. Because both parties said from the quick count both of them wins the election. The margin between the two is so narrow, so we have to wait until the 20th for the official tally. I just pray for who ever wins this election will bring brighter future for our Indonesian Democracy. #HIDUPINDONESIA

TLC VoxBox for Influenster MOMS 2014

A few weeks ago i received my TLC VoxBox from Influenster. This VoxBox is specially designed for the Influenster MOMS. This box is being designed to help the MOM to get some TLC! I bet all the mom will love that!

If you haven't heard about Influenster, it is a site that will sent you a free product in the VoxBox for free and for that all you have to do is to review it and to publish it on social media site such as Facebook, Instagram, Vine and Youtube etc. All the item that i received are free, but all the opinion and the review are my own.

Let get started with my review

First product is PUFF TO GO : Being a mom and people who have allergy this neat Puff To Go is a live saver. I love Puff long before i got this on my box. Why i love it, simply because if you have runny nose either from flu or allergy, constantly blowing your nose will make your nose red. Puff with lotion will at least ease your nose. So no more red nose for me or my son. I put it on my bag, on the car even on my son school bag.

Second is IVORY SOAP : I never use this soap before, but i've been loving it for the fresh smell and my skin feel so clean. This might be one that i'll be pick up again for my next groceries trip

Third is AVON Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother ; It is a very long name for the product! It is actually the one i really want to try on. According to the package this translucent balm blurs the look of the wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes instantly.

I've been trying this product few times, but i didn't notice any difference on my wrinkle, or maybe i didn't have permanent wrinkle or i haven't use this product the right way.

Four is SHELL Fuel Rewards Network Card, I've other rewards card from one of my supermarket store. The only bad thing about this card, the Shell gas station is not near my house, it is about 35 minute for me to drive to one of Shell gas station. But i will try to use this card on my next road trip

Five is Breyers Gelato Indulges, yey a coupon for a free Gelato! I jump to my next trip for this! I got this in Raspberry Cheesecake. Loving this for the flavor and my son keep asking for another scoop. It finish on the second day..well i think i need more coupon ;)

Six is Neosporin NEO TO GO : I love neosporin but i didn't have it this kind of neo to go. This stuff is very handy, specially if you have kids that running around like crazy and end up with scratches, you just spray this and they back on!

I like to thank you to Influenster to include me on this TLC VoxBox. I'm loving that i get to try on new product and give my reviews on the things that Influenster sent me. I really hope this review will help other moms. And i also like to invite others to join the Influenster and keep spreading the words of what product that you love.

My son graduated to 3rd Grade

On June 7th, my son graduate from his 2nd grade. He was really proud that he finally graduate and ready to move to his 3rd grade. I got his Spring Pictures from the school and also his report card.

The final weekend the Brentwood School district invites all family to come to the ART IN THE PARK event, where all the student art will be display and the family can interact with the teacher and also can see the student art.

We also have FUN DAY at Moore School,that they the PTA member volunteer their time to bring fun and games to the student. This Fun Day also in the student wish list, because they get together with their parents at the school and getting to know the teacher. I'm so tired when volunteering but putting the smile on the student and my son is so worth it.

Mother's Day

On Monday 5/11/2014 is Mother's Day in United States, in Indonesia we might call it Hari Ibu. It said that the Mother's Day is 3rd biggest celebrate day after Valentine and Easter. On friday my son brings his craft from school, i think that day on lots of elementary students will give their mothers the craft for Mother's Day. It's very nice gesture to come home and see your son crafts and what he thinks about you. 

He gives me the World's Best Mom, for that i take it :). He also makes poem and tell me that i love to sleep! Every mother will be thankfull if they have a whole day for sleep without worrying about every thing. 

Since as usual my hubby have to work on weekends, we end up walking to Giant Eagle to have our lunch. Is actually a very nice day to walk! I know that is spring but on other part in US, we still have snow. 

 

and i also take a selfie! A Mother's Day selfie, i bet lots of mom will putting their pictures with their moms or their kids too. At the end of the day, when i search my pictures with my mom, i realize that i don't have!! Since i lived in different country than her! This is i make from my mom and me picture.

Pemilu/Election 2014

On April 9-10 2014, Indonesians is having the legistative elections. The parliamentary election is before the presidential election in July. Since i'm Indonesian living abroad, i got a letter to indicate that i have to choose to elect by mail or go to the Embassy in NY to cast my election. Since NY is about 6-7 hours from Pittsburgh, i prefer to send my vote.

I never vote through mail, and as i remember i just exercise my right for maybe twice. The first time is to elect Megawati Soekarno as a president and this time. As for why i don't want to exercise my right for other past election is maybe because i really disappointed on other elections either for the chosen candidate or the parliment. 

There's a lot corruptions and miss management in Indonesian Goverment. So with this condition lots of people choose not to vote, doesn't care about the election, or even when they come to vote they couldn't decide which political parties they want to choose. But this time around i see lots of changing in the Indonesian politics. I see lots of emerging young people tried to exercise their rights. Lots of social media such as Facebook, BBM, Path and Twitter that being use to gather the young people. As I amaze for this, maybe this also because lots of movement in the world now start or being reports by young people straight from the social media. 

For this time around, i wish that many people specially the younger generations go to vote and exercise their right, because every vote is count to be a better Indonesia. Here is some the of the plamphlet and the sitution in Indonesia during the Election Day

Putu Ayu Indonesian traditional steam cupcakes

To everybody who just stumble to my blog post and who actually request about this recipe just notice that I'm Indonesian, and i want to introduce to you one of Indonesian traditional cake. It is an easy to make, i promise you. I'm not a very good cook so i always find ways to make lot of our traditional food as easy as possible but still delicious. This recipe is also a modification since i substitute grated coconut with grated cheese

Without futher chit chat here is the recipe:

Putu Ayu Indonesian Steam Cupcakes

Ingredients

125 gr all purpose flour

150 gr sugar

3 eggs

150 ml coconut milk (you can use the can one, and find it at Chinese Store)

1 tbsp vanilla 

1 tbsp baking powder/cake emulsifier

1/4 tbsp salt

1/2 tbsp green food coloring (optional)

1/3 cup of grated cheese/coconut

Directions

1. Grease 15 cupcake mold ( i use olive oil )

2. Using electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs on high speed until pale and creamy

3. Pour the flour in to the mix and then coconut milk gradually, stirring until it blended well. Put salt and baking powder into to batter, stir well.

4. Put the green food coloring and stir it well

5. Heat the steamer, make sure it hot before you put the cake mold

6. Put the grated cheese into each mold, press firmly into the base

7. Put the cake mold to steamer, wait a bit before you pour the cake batter until the mold is full

8. Close the steamer and reduce the heat, then steam for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick into the centre comes out clean

9. When the cakes are cooked, leave to the stand for 5 minutes. Run a dull/butter knife around the edge of each mould, then ease the cake out onto a plate.

And your steam cupcakes done.

My Birthday 2014

Last year i didn't post any about my birthday, i was away for "Umroh". For Muslim people that's the pilgrim we do it to follow what our prophet Muhammad SW do long time ago. I'm so bless when i start my umroh, it's on my birthday. I love my Umroh, i do with all my family, include my parents too. Last year i have lot of blessing, going to Umroh and visit my parents again in Indonesia. I couldn't have it if not for blessing from God and of course a little help from my parents. 

Let me tell you why my Umroh is blessing from God. If you from US, and you want to do Umroh, you have to know that if you're a women you have to travel with your spouse or your family. In Indonesia you can perform Umroh alone even you are not traveling with your spouse or your parents. It is very strict in here US if you want to travel to Saudi Arabia. So i purchase the ticket with prayer that i can get my visas at the same time that i need to go. I plan the Umroh in exactly one month. Even my travel agent consider it is impossible. But possible with the blessing of GOD.

First, the visa officer that approved my visa is actually half Makassar and half Saudi. So when he saw my passport immediately he knows that i came from Indonesia specially from Makassar. He actually call me and try to speak to us since he was so excited to met people from Makassar. So that the 1st blessing. My visa went smoothly and arrived one day before we depart.

Second, the vaccination. You have to get certification for Meningitis vaccination. In US, you have to be at least 11y old and above if you want to get that vaccination, that if you want to get it at your doctor or local Walgreen's and CVS. But because of my son is 6y by that time. I have to search to find place that have the vaccine for my son age. Let me tell you, the place that have it, is your local Government Health Care. Call them, that's the only place that you can have the Meningitis vaccine for 2y old and above.

Third, my travel agent is World Wide Travel Agent. They actually can help you to get the visas and the ticket to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umroh/Hajj. There's a lot of travel agent here in US that specially for Umroh/Hajj, but you have to travel with them. But for my case i just need the visa and the ticket, since I'm going to meet up with my family there and going to be with their travel agent (from Indonesia).

So with all of that, I sincerely say that i have the best Umroh and memory of the best birthday that I ever had!!.

Olay Fresh Effect review

A few month ago,  i received a package from  Shespeaks.com. This package i received because i win from one of the twitter party from SheSpeaks.com. I love Olay products in general. It usually suit my skin all year round. And also because this product is available all over the world. So If i travel back to Indonesia, i can easily purchase Olay if i run out or if i forgot to bring it with me. Before i received this    Olay fresh effect package, i already use the Olay fresh effect BB cream. So i was so excited to other line of Olay fresh effect. On this review i only going to feature 3 products that I really like from this line.

1. Olay Fresh Effect BB Cream

This BB cream is sheer to light medium cover. This product is actually really good for dry skin, but not for oily to combination skin. My skin right now is dry to combination skin so this product suit me well. I just need to put a little bit powder to make it stay longer and is not to oily.  Overall i give the rating for this product a B+ because it only come for 2-3 color and also it tend to be oily if you didn't put powder. But this product is really good for dry winter skin and also it have SPF 15

2. Olay Fresh Effect VA VA VIVID

If you see from the pictures above you can see that this package is contain 2 product. The cleansing tool and the cleanser. Please don't be fool about this cleansing tool, it is small but actually quite powerful and because it small it can reach the corner that for the big bulky cleansing tool can not reach. I really like it because it not to harsh on my dry skin and it actually quite easy to use. I even use it for my husband face and he really like it too! This cleansing tool is very handy to carry, i travel a lot and i don't like to bring bulky tool with me, and this one is so small that i consider to bring it for my travelling journey. Believe me, if you like me, bulky tool is a no no to pack. So this one i give a big A+

3. Olay Fresh Effect Cleansing wipes

This wipes is so gentle and moisturizing. When you don't have time to wash your face, i consider to just use wipes sometimes i use baby wipes too! I tried this one and i love it! Usually when i use wipes or baby wipes it actually dries my skin. Maybe because there is a lot of alcohol in it, my skin feel tight and i end up have to rinse my face after it. The Olay wipes actually makes my skin feel so soft even when i wake up in the morning i can feel how soft my skin. So this product will be a purchase again in the future. I give this product an A.

I love the Olay Fresh Effect line, and i hope this review will be helping other that consider to purchase it. 

The coldest day in Pittsburgh

Today is the coldest day in Pittsburgh, it is almost 20y ago that Pittsburgh get this cold. It so freezing out there, i can even feel it while sitting on my living room and trying to record this day on my blog. 

Lucky for me, that my son didn't have to go to school today because of the frigid weather. 

I came from tropical island, usually during winter i really hate the cold here, even though lots of my friends in Indonesia would love to come and see the snow. For me, great if you don't live here, just for travelling, but to live here that another thing.

I know i bless to get around the world every year, but this come with different challenge too. Like you have to bare the cold in the winter.

But since we have to enjoy it...here what we do on this coldest day. Let me show you what is in the news right now

New Year and Fresh Start

Hi, everyone...what you do after the clock start 12.01 at midnight on the new year eve? I got myself a new selfie. Usually i don't like selfie, since i never like to take my own picture as right now it call selfie. Maybe because I'm a little bit chubby, but honestly i prefer to take others pictures or objects. But since this a new day, why don't we challenge our self to break our own boundary. Try to be better, try a new way of seeing things. Feeling a little bit better of our self. Not to be bitter, since no one   perfect in any way. We should try to let down our guards. Let celebrate new year, as this 1st day of the year almost come to end, let us just be thankful that we live another day, we being bless by God.
